Privacy policy
Plain language, and accurate to what this website and Alvin actually do.
The short version
- This website collects only what you type into the pilot form, plus the page you sent it from, your browser’s user agent and your approximate country.
- We use it only to contact you about a pilot. We don’t sell it.
- No analytics and no ad trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is your light or dark theme choice.
- When you use Alvin, your business data stays in your own apps, your logins stay in an encrypted vault, and we delete your data when you ask.
Who we are
Alvin (“we”, “us”) makes Alvin, a personal assistant for home services businesses. This policy covers this website and the Alvin product.
What the website collects
The website has no accounts and no logins. The only place it collects information is the pilot form. When you send it, we store:
| What | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, company, email, mobile phone | You, in the form | To contact you about a pilot |
| Your trade and main software | You, in the form | To prepare for the pilot call |
| The page you sent the form from | Your browser, with the form | To know which page you were reading |
| Browser user agent | Your browser, with the form | To spot spam and broken submissions |
| Approximate country | Cloudflare, from your connection | To spot spam and see where requests come from |
The form also has a hidden field that people don’t see. If it’s filled in, we treat the submission as spam and don’t store it. If the same email address is sent twice within ten minutes, we keep one copy.
How we use it
We use what you send only to contact you about a pilot, and to keep spam out of the form. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their marketing, and we don’t add you to advertising audiences.
Where it’s stored
Pilot requests are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database that belongs to the Alvin site. Only our team can read it.
Your browser
There are no analytics, no ad trackers and no tracking cookies on this site.
If you use the light or dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name alvin-theme, so the next page opens the same way. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Services that see your visit
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any host, it processes your requests, including your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Google’s privacy policy.
We don’t control what these services log.
How long we keep it
We keep a pilot request while we’re talking with you about a pilot. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will.
When you use Alvin
Once your business signs up, Alvin works with your business data to do what your team asks. Here is how that data is handled.
Your data stays in your apps
Alvin works inside QuickBooks, your CRM, your supplier accounts and your other tools, reading and changing records there to do the work. Those apps aren’t replaced, and your records aren’t moved out of them.
What Alvin keeps
The requests your team sends, including forwarded emails and their attachments; the tasks Alvin does; receipts for every action; and what Alvin learns about your business, like customers, jobs, prices and preferences. You can see all of it in the app, edit any fact, or ask for it to be forgotten.
Logins
Logins are stored encrypted in your vault and filled in at the moment of sign-in. They are never shown to the AI and never appear in logs, notes, memory or receipts. Card numbers are never kept in Alvin’s memory or notes.
Receipts
Receipts are kept for audit. While your account is open they can’t be edited or deleted, so you and your bookkeeper can rely on them.
Deletion
Ask us to delete your data and we will, including tasks, memory, receipts and vault logins, once your account is closed.
We don’t sell your business data.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We don’t send marketing email. Alvin is a business product, and this site isn’t meant for children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
Contact
Use the form on our pilot page and mention that it’s about privacy. We’ll follow up with you directly.
