Terms of service

The terms for the Alvin pilot, in plain language.

Last updated October 3, 2026

The short version

  • You are the account holder, buyer and merchant of record for everything Alvin does on your accounts.
  • Alvin never holds or moves money alone. You set the approvals and limits, and you’re responsible for keeping them right.
  • Alvin doesn’t negotiate insurance claims, give legal advice, or do licensed work.
  • The pilot is an early version, provided as is. Either of us can end it at any time.

About these terms

These terms are between your business and Alvin (“we”, “us”). They cover the Alvin pilot and this website. By joining a pilot or using the site, you agree to them. If you agree for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to.

The pilot

A pilot is an early version of Alvin. We set up your vault, connections and approval limits with you, and then your team hands Alvin real work for a few weeks.

Features can change during the pilot, and some may be added or removed. If a pilot has a fee, we agree on it with you in writing before it starts.

Your accounts and responsibilities

Alvin acts on your behalf, on your own accounts, under the rules you set. You are the account holder, buyer and merchant of record for every purchase, invoice and payment Alvin makes for you.

  • You confirm you have the right to connect each account and login you add to the vault.
  • You’re responsible for who you add to your team, the roles you give them, and how they use Alvin.
  • Keep your team list and vault current. Remove people and logins when they should no longer have access.

Money, approvals and limits

Alvin never holds or moves funds alone, and we never take custody of your money. Money moves only through your own accounts.

Actions that spend money or bill a customer wait for approval by default. You decide the approval rules, roles and dollar limits, and you’re responsible for setting them and keeping them right. If you raise a limit, actions within it can happen without asking. Review what you approve before you approve it.

What Alvin doesn’t do

  • No negotiating insurance claims or acting as a public adjuster. Alvin documents and follows up.
  • No legal, tax or financial advice.
  • No performing or signing licensed work, such as electrical, plumbing, pesticide application or inspections. Anything that needs a license or a signature goes to your licensed person.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Alvin to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • message customers who haven’t agreed to hear from you. Customer texts follow consent rules, including STOP and HELP, quiet hours and rate limits;
  • get into accounts or data you aren’t allowed to access;
  • overload, break, or get around the controls of the service.

We can pause access if we see use that puts you, your customers or the service at risk, and we’ll tell you why.

Your data and confidentiality

Your business data is yours. We use it only to provide Alvin to you, we keep it confidential, and we don’t sell it. Logins are stored encrypted and are never shown to the AI. We delete your data when you ask. The privacy policy has the details.

Mistakes and receipts

Alvin can make mistakes, and the apps Alvin works in can change without notice. That’s why money waits for approval and every action has a receipt. Check the work where it matters to you.

What we stand behind: an accurate log of every action, undo where the app allows it, and fast help from a real person when something looks wrong.

Availability during the pilot

During the pilot, Alvin is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. There may be interruptions, and connections can break when another company changes its app or portal.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or revenue, arising from the pilot or the website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the pilot.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Ending the pilot

You or we can end the pilot at any time. When it ends, we disconnect Alvin from your accounts, and we delete your data when you ask.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For changes that matter to how you use Alvin, we’ll tell you before they apply.
